Rp 400B for Land Acquisition over Airport Rail Lines
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Directorate General of Railways, Ministry of Transportation, has allocated a budget of Rp400 billion for the acquisition of land in Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta, for construction of railway lines, says Ministry spokesperson Bambang S. Ervan in his office, Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Bambang explains the land acquisition was resolved by Sarana Multi Infrastructure (SMI) and the governments of Banten and Jakarta. The development of infrastructure is always plagued by land acquisition issues. He had suggested to the KA Bandara (Airport Railway Line) developers to immediately form a team that would include representatives from the provincial government whose territory would be crossed by the railway lines. The team would also determine the charge of the ticket price. SMI has already submitted a discussion on the pre-feasibility study which includes the KA Bandara railway line that will pass Cawang and Halim airports, East Jakarta. Currently the Ministry is waiting for a progress report of the study. In the future, there will be another project for the KA Bandara in addition to the express train by SMI, which is a monorail from Serpong to the airport that will be handled by the Banten provincial government. With regard to the location of the station that will accommodate both trains, Bambang says that construction will require coordination with PT Angkasa Pura II. So far the station prepared is only for the KA Bandara Ekspres. MARIA YUNIAR
