Did Fauzi Deliberately Not Take Joko Widodo’s Call?
TEMPO Interactive, Surakarta:Joko Widodo, Jakarta governor candidate, won the first round of gubernatorial elections based on the quick count version. In the results on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, the pair Jokowi-Ahok defeated Foke-Nara. Lingkaran Survey Indonesia counted that Jokowi grabbed 43.04 percent, while Foke only 34.17 percent.
According to pollster Jaringan Suara Indonesia, Jokowi lead by winning 41.97 percent; Foke, 34.42 percent. According to Puskaptis, Jokowi won 42.64 percent, while Foke collected 34.33 percent.
When he heard that he was temporarily in the lead, Jokowi claimed he tried to contact Foke—Fauzi Bowo’s nickname. "I have called several times, but in vain," said Jokowi in Solo, Thursday, July 12, 2012.
Either there was no connection or no answer. "The tone indicated connection but it was not picked up," said Jokowi.
With the other candidates he said he had communicated eight times with Faisal Basri. "We’ve spoken on the phone eight times," he said, showing the call records on his cell phone records to reporters.
