Presidential Decree Revisions on Sunda Straits Bridge Unclear
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa says that he is undecided about the implementation of revisions to the Presidential Decree in regard to the Sunda Straits Bridge construction project. The National Mandate Party (PAN) chairman also said that he has yet to determine which part of the policy will be revised. “How can I mention the points that are going to be revised? I haven’t even decided to revise the presidential decree,” said Hatta, after a meeting with World Bank executive director Sri Mulyani on Thursday. Hatta’s statement was in contrast to his own statement on Tuesday when the minister said that revisions to the presidential decree would be discussed immediately and that he had already signed an agreement to revise the decree. According to Presidential Decree No. 86/2011, the government appointed the consortium Graha Banten Lampung Sejahtera to conduct feasibility studies with the condition that if the study was cancelled, it would be covered by the state budget. However, Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said he disagreed with the decree and requested the Public Works Ministry fund the study. ISTMAN MP
