TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Dahlan Iskan has welcomed the plan to raise gas prices following this year’s Muslim celebration, Eid al-Fitr. Dahlan said he would leave the measures to the gas company. “The state gas company [PGN] must already be prepared to fulfill the anticipated increase in volume,” said the minister on Friday. Gas price hikes following Eid, according to Dahlan, are a good step. “We hope that the price hikes will not get in the way of people’s activities during the fasting month,” said Dahlan, adding that the government has calculated the timing of the price hikes.
