Three Villages Isolated After Bridge Washed Away
TEMPO Interactive, Sidrap:An overflowing Lasiwala River washed away a bridge connecting Campanian village and Lasiwala village in Pitu Riawa District in Sidrap, South Sulawesi, on Monday evening. The wooden bridge was the main access to 200 householders in three villages, Ana Banna, Cipota Kari and Damai villages. In order to reach the villages, residents now must take a 20-kilometer detour through Damai village. Furthermore, the overflowing river, which started in Enrekang Regency, has left at least 200 hectares of rice fields belonging to local farmers submerged, leading to crop failure. SUARDI GATTANG
