Bima Regent Aims Gun at Student
TEMPO Interactive, Bima, West Nusa Tenggara:Bima regent Fery Zulkarnain aimed a gun, .36 milimeter caliber at a university student, Sudirmasin, who is also known as Boman. This happened on Monday, July 2, when Fery visited Doro O’o Village, in Lenggudu subdistrict.
Fery was there to supervise a community project. During a break, Sudirmasin and two of his friends came to Fery to submit a proposal to obtain funding for laptops. Fery rejected this idea. He said there was no money for that purpose. Shortly after this, a verbal argument between Fery and Boman ensued. Boman is a law student. Fery looked emotional. “I will kill you,” Fery said while pointing the gun at Sudirmasin. He and his aides also punched Sudirmasin.
Some people tried to stop the fighting. “He threatened me with his gun and hit me suddenly. This is why I report to the police,” Sudirmasin told Tempo at Bima Police District.
“It was because of a misunderstanding only,” said head of Langgudu Subdistrict, Baharudin. There is no confirmation from Fery yet. Bima Regency spokeperson Yan Suryadin said that Fery knew about Sudirmasin’s report to the police. “We will check the information,” he said.
Head of Bima public order agency, Iskandar, explained that the fighting was ignited by the attitude of Sudirmasin and his friends who tore the proposal after being rejected. Deputy of Bima Police District, Bunawar, confirmed that there was a report regarding Fery. “The case is now handled by the police’s Criminal Detective Directorate (Reskrim),” he said.
