Pertamina to Acquire Iraq Oil Company
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Dahlan Iskan says that Pertamina will acquire an oil company from Iraq. “[If] we want to get oil from Iraq, we have to own a company there,” said the minister on Tuesday. Minister Dahlan said if Pertamina starts a company in Iraq, the company must find an oil field with long-term oil reserves. “We are planning to take over a portion of an existing company there,” said Dahlan. However, Dahlan refused to specify the name of the company that Pertamina is planning to acquire. Dahlan also refused to reveal the cost of the acquisition. “It’s a lot. Hopefully, we can realize it by the end of this year.” In regard to the source of funding, Dahlan said he was optimistic it could be easily collected. SATWIKA MOVEMENTI
