Rp26-T Allocated from State Budget for Eastern Indonesia
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The government has allocated a stimulus of Rp26 trillion from the state budget to boost economic growth, especially in Indonesia’s Eastern regions. Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said the budget was being processed before being approved by the House of Representatives (DPR). Agus added that the stimulus prepared by the government was generally in the form of infrastructure development acceleration such as for the construction of ports, roads, railways, and airport improvement. Agus said he expects the commissions at the DPR and the ministries will give their approval immediately. “We expect this [budget to be approved] quickly,” said Minister Agus in Jakarta on Thursday. The minister believes that the disbursal of the funds will improve economic growth in Indonesia’s Eastern regions and the country overall. ANGGA SUKMA WIJAYA
