TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said the police are still investigating an attack against a member of Forum Betawi Rembug (FBR)—a forum for Jakarta’s indigenous Betawinese—on Jalan Ruko Sabar Garuda Asri, in Pondok Aren, South Tangerang, on early Wednesday morning. “Yes, there has been an attack and the police are still trying to figure out the perpetrators,” said Rikwanto via text message on Wednesday. The police, according to the spokesman, are still investigating the perpetrators and motive of the attack. Rikwanto added that about 50 unknown people riding motorcycles raided the FBR post at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. Outnumbered, the 10 FBR members who were gathered at the post tried to escape but one member, Muhidin, put up a fight and was killed.
