Lawyer Asks Protection for Lapindo Book’s Author
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Lawyer of Ali Azhar Akbar, author of “Lapindo Mud Files: Conspiracy SBY-Bakrie”, has asked the National Police Chief Gen. Timur Pradopo to provide protection for his client. “Maybe Ali then will come out from his hiding,” said the lawyer M. Taufik Budiman on Tuesday, June 26.
Taufik suspected that Ali Azhar was kidnapped or afraid to appear. He said that Ali often received terrors over phone calls and text messages. He hoped Ali was not being kidnapped. By providing assurance for his safety, Taufik expected Ali to contact him. Ali Azhar has been reported missing since June 22. Taufik thought Ali was in a vacation before reporting it to the police. The National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Saud Usman Nasution said he did not know about this request yet.
