TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:President Director of PT Merpati Airlines on Thursday told legislators that corruption at the state-owned airlines had reached a critical point. “The corruption level in Merpati internally is above 60 percent,” he said at a hearing session involving legislators at the House of Representatives on Thursday, June 21, 2012. Rudy started his new position on May 14, replacing Sardjono Jhony Tjitrokusumo. The high level of corruption, says Rudy, is such that it merits immediate intervention from the anti-graft commission. KPK must interrogate employees of Merpati suspected of corruption, he said. Rudy will eventually fire any Merpati employee proven of corruption. High corruption levels are suspected to be the chief cause of losses suffered by the state-owned enterprise in the past five years. Rudy promises to clean up his office to optimize company performance so that it can achieve a profit target of Rp 37 billion by the end of 2012. M. ANDI PERDANA
