Bank Indonesia Regulations Affect Danamon Credit Card Marketing
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Dessy Masri, Bank Danamon’s card business executive vice president, says that Bank Indonesia’s plan to cap overdue fees for credit cards will affect credit card marketing activities implemented by Danamon. “It may be influential because in business management you need to have a balance between revenues and costs,” said Dessy on Monday. The remarks were made in response to Bank Indonesia’s recently released directive on credit cards. The directive was issued after Bank Indonesia Regulation No. 14/2/PBI/2012 on the limitation of credit card ownership in January 2012 was applied. Among other directives, Bank Indonesia directives No. 14/17/DASP stipulates that late payment charges are to be restricted to a maximum of 3 percent of the total amount owed. MARTHA T.
