SOEs Minister Asks Toll-Road Operator to Stick to Its Promises
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan has asked state-owned toll-road operator Jasa Marga to work out a way of providing faster services of vehicle-owners taking toll-roads in order to help in efforts to resolve traffic congestion. “I have asked Jasa Marga to do this some 10 days ago,” Dahlan said on Thursday. He said he often wondered if there were people who could really help in easing traffic congestions on tollroads in the Greater Jakarta Area. He said that massive gridlock continued to plague tollroads, from Cililitan to Cawang, and from Cawang to Slipi.
“We have to recognize the problem and do something about it. However, bitter it is. In order to do what needs to be done,” Dahlan said during his conversation with officials from Jasa Marga. The toll-road operator, he said, had promised him that they would take a few days to come up with plans on easing traffic congestion in the tollroads of Cawang, Slipi and Cililitan.
