SBY To Expel Corrupt Democrat Party Cadres
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Even though he did not mention specific names, Democrat Party Board of Patrons Chief Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said he would expel the party's cadres involved in graft. SBY affirmed that the image of his party had fallen in the public eye over the last year as a result of the misbehaviours of a number of cadres who stole the state money, as proven by a number of surveys. "We have to admit this and don't deny." Nevertheless the degree of the Democrat Party cadres' corrupt practices was below that of three or four other political parties without mentioning the names of the parties. SBY denied that the Democrat Party received money corrupted from government projects. Earlier, General Chairman of the Democrat Party Founders Communication Forum, Ventje Rumengkang, asked SBY to apply sanctions against the cadres who disgraced the Party's image.
