Neneng Ready to Open Up
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Neneng's lawyer Rufinus Hutauruk said his client was ready to reveal all information needed by the antigraft commission. "Neneng has expressed her readiness to identify anybody whom she knew was involved in the cases she would be queried about," said Rufinus when contacted by Tempo Wednesday, June 13, 2012.
According to Rufinus, temporarily Neneng would focus on the case she was charged with by the KPK. If asked by the KPK, Neneng would also inform other cases which she knew about. "She'll mention anybody but what the relationship is, let Neneng say so," he said.
Neneng was named a suspect in the alleged receipt of money from the Solar-Powered Electric Generation project (PLTS) in the Manpower Ministry in 2008. Neneng and her husband were suspected of receiving a fee of Rp2.2 billion from the Rp8.9 billion project.
Director of Gadjah Mada University's Center for Anti-Corruption Study, Oce Madril, said Neneng could become the key witness to uncover corrupt practices stemming from the Permai Business Group. In Nazar's business company, Neneng was finance director. "Neneng was an insider in the Permai Group," said Oce yesterday.
One of the cases calling for Neneng's testimonies was the alleged money going to the Democrat Party Congress in Bandung in 2010. Nazaruddin said the Permai Group received a commission of Rp100 billion from PT Adhi Karya Tbk, the contractor of Hambalang project. Half the money was used to enable Anas to secure the general chairmanship of the Democrat Party. The remainder went to Youth and Sports Ministry top officials and a number of Senayan politicians.
