Semarang Court Once Again Acquits Corruption Defendants
TEMPO Interactive, Semarang:For the seventh time since its establishment, the Semarang Anti-Corruption Court has acquitted graft defendants. This time those acquitted are former Head of PT Hutama Karya V, Heru Jatmiko, who allegedly bribed Kendal Regent Hendy Boedoro with a Rp5.9 billion payoff, and Regional Kendal Finance Management Head, Warso Susilo. "We declare that the defendant is not proven guilty of giving or promising something as charged," said the presiding judge Lilik Nuraini when reading the ruling Tuesdy, June 12, 2012. Earlier, the prosecuting attorney charged Heru with the action of giving Rp5.9 billion to Handy Boedoro and Warso Susilo in order to win the tender for Bahurekso Stadium Construction Project, and for the Brangsong SMK Construction Project in 2004. These two projects were funded by Kendal Regional Budget (APBD) under the multi-years funding model worth Rp43 billion. According to Tempo's records, to date seven corruption defendants had been acquitted by Corruption Courts. Six of them were acquitted by Judge Lilik Nuraini. ROFIUDDIN
