KPK Confiscates 20 Documents of Bhakti Investama
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Corruption Eradication Commission confiscated 20 bundles of documents belonging to PT Bhakti Investama. According to Andi F. Simangunsong, Investama's lawyer, the confiscated documents were administrative letters of the company. Andi refused to inform in detail the contents of the 20 bundles of documents. "Just ask the KPK," said Andi when contacted Saturday, June 9, 2012. The confiscation was the result of the raid by KPK on the 5th floor of the MNC Tower, where the Bhakti Investama office was situated, since last Saturday early morning. The raid was an attempt for KPK to find additional evidence in the bribery case of the Head of Sidoarjo Tax Supervision and Consultation Office, Tommy Hendratno. Tommy was nabbed along with James Gunardjo at a Minang restaurant at Tebet last Wednesday. When arrested, a sum of Rp280 suspected of being bribe money was found. KPK suspected that the bribery had to do with Bhakti Investama's tax affairs. Andi denied the allegation that Bhakti Investama was involved in tax bribery. KPK Deputy Chairman Busyro Muqoddas confirmed that Bhakti Investama's confiscated documents had to do with tax bribery. However, he declined to reveal the contents of the documents. "We'll expose all during the court hearings," said Busyro yesterday. SYAILENDRA | SUKMA
