Langit Biru Cooperatives Money In Circulation Amounts To Rp6 Trillion
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Chief of Tangerang Police Detectives Comr. Shinto Silitonga said the money of Langit Biru (Blue Sky) Cooperatives in Tangerang until October 2011 reached Rp6 trillion, given the fact that this cooperative raised money from its members early in June 2011. Shinto said the cooperatives, led by Jaya Komara, was full of irregularities. This coop, though established as a legal entity only in September 2011, had raised funds from the public eight months beforehand. According to Shinto, police got this information after questioning a witness named Zulkifli, the cooperatives' finance manager. The manager had never used banking services when carrying out financial transactions, such as receiving money and giving bonus to cooperatives members. "They do so manually, carrying out the transactions by using cash," he said at Jakarta Police Headquarters yesterday. These amounts, though fantastic, were quite rational. The coop board said the cooperatives had 150,000 members. The investment packages started from Rp385 thousand to Rp14 million. Head of Tangerang Cooperatives Service, Mahdiar, the profit bonus of over 17 percent, as promised by the cooperatives, was considered irrational. "Even its business activities have not been known yet," he said yesterday. The coop manager was not cooperative. ADITYA BUDIMAN | MARIA YUNIAR | JONIANSYAH |AYU CIPTA
