Who Received Hambalang Money At Democrats’ Congress?
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Deputy Chairman of KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission) Bambang Widjojanto said the investigation into the Hambalang project had reached a number of Democrat Party cadres. They are suspected of receiving bribes at the party's congress in Bandung in 2010. "We've questioned some of them some time ago," said Bambang at his office Monday evening, June 4, 2012.
KPK on May 25, for instance, summoned former Chairperson of Minahasa Democrat Party Executive Board Branch, Diana Maringka, to make a statement. Diana claimed she and 10 members of All-North Sulawesi Democrat Party Branches were given a gift of Rp100 million plus one BlackBerry unit per person. The gift was intended to make Anas Urbaningrum win the general chairmanship of the Democrat Party.
According to Bambang, investigation was also carried out into PT Adhi Karya's subcontractor for the Hambalang project. He did not deny that his office [KPK] was probing the involvement of the Sports and Youth Ministry as the project owner. Bambang also disclosed that his commission was working in coordination with the Financial Transaction Report Analysis Center (PPATK) in order to find out the cash flow. Cooperation was also forged with other state agencies so that an an audit was made.
In the case of the Hambalang project, KPK has questioned more than 60 persons, among others, Adhi Karya CEO Tengku Bagus, former CEO Tri Wibowo and Procurement Manager Maharani.
