Annoyed Yudhoyono Stops Speech over Audience Chatter
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono today delivered a speech to commemorate the World Environment Day 2012. In the middle of the 16-minute speech, Yudhoyono suddenly stopped his speech and was quiet for about 10 seconds. Apparently Yudhoyono was disturbed by audience chatter at the State Palace. At the State Palace there was indeed a ceremony where Kalpataru, Adipura and Wiyatama Mandiri awards were conferred on individuals, school principals, regents/mayors and governors. "I'm waiting for the people back there to be through with speaking," said Yudhoyono Tuesday, June 5, 2012. A few moments later, Yudhoyono continued his speech. Meanwhile, outside the Palace, there was much activity. At least 200 supporters from various provinces were denied entry into the State Palace. So they spent their time watching the live program aired by the TVRI-owned Satellite News Gathering (SNG) car. Some of them were busy posing for a photo in front of the State Palace.
