National Franchise Profits Exceed Rp160 Trillion
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Franchise businesses in Indonesia have been showing promising prospect over the last few years. Records from the Indonesian Franchise Association (AFI) show the sales figure of the business sector has reached Rp160 trillion per year. AFI chairman Anang Sukandar said the franchise business was expected to grow rapidly along with Indonesia’s growing middle class. Despite booking significant sales figures, Anang said the sector’s growth rate was still low. “It will grow bigger because [at this stage] it is still a ‘baby’,” said the chairman at the opening ceremony of the International Franchise License and Business Concept Expo and Conference (IFRA) at the Jakarta Convention Centre on Friday.
