Fadel Implicated in New Corruption Scandal
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Gorontalo High Prosecution Office on Monday, June 4, 2012, questioned former Governor of Gorontalo Fadel Muhammad in the Rp7.9 billion corruption of the project for procurement of health equipment for Boalemo and Pohuwato Regencies' General Hospital in 2004. In this case Fadel's status was still a witness. "He (Fadel) was questioned from 9 a.m. to 12 noon," said Gorontalo High Prosecution Office's Head of the Legal Information Section, Mulyadi, when contacted by reporters this evening. Mulyadi affirmed that Fadel was interrogated not over the embezzlement of the unused money from the 2001 budget of Rp5.4 billion. In this particular case, Fadel was a suspect. The High Prosecution Office has named two persons as suspects. They are Thamrin Podungge, Head of Gorontalo Provincial Health Service, and Suparman Suparja as project officer for procurement of health equipment at the hospital in question in 2004. INDRA WIJAYA
