Telkom and LEN to Acquire INTI Shares
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Pandu Djajanto, deputy of restructuring and strategic planning at the State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry, says his ministry is considering selling the shares of Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (INTI) to state telecommunications company, Telkom, or LEN.
“We are still weighing up the possibility [of selling the shares] either to Telkom or LEN,” said Pandu in Bandung on Thursday.
Pandu said the SOEs Ministry was currently looking for a business model that fits the company’s future core business development plans. “We’re looking for a [business] model and examining where its core business is heading to,” Pandu added.
INTI’s shares are fully owned by the state. The government is planning to release 49 percent of the new shares to fellow SOEs through a strategic sales scheme. Pandu also said that privatization through a strategic sales scheme was part of a program to synchronize SOEs.
