TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Two foreign nationals were shot by unidentified people at Pondok Wisata (tourist cabin) Port Numbery, at the Base G Beach in Jayapura on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. "Both were shot at Pondok Wisata Port Numbery, North Jayapura district o fTanjung Ria," said Papua Intel Director, Senior Pol. Comr. Wachyono. According to Wachyono, based on witness statements, Dietmar Pieper, a Spanish citizen, and his wife Eva Medina (a German) were swimming that Tuesday morning. They returned to Pondok Wisata but on their way back to their cabin, they were attacked. "The victim (Dietmar) suffered wounds on the thigh and left ribs," said Wachyono. According to some witnesses, before the shooting, they saw a blue Avanza car running back and forth near the tourist cabin where the two foreigners stayed. "A blue Avanza was running back and forth three times," said a resident who refused to be identified. Until Tuesday afternoon, Dietmar was under intensive medical care at the hospital as a result of the gunshot wounds he suffered. TJAHJONO EP
