Imparsial Condemns Fresh Shooting Incident in Papua
TEMPO Interactive, Jayapura:Indonesian Human Rights Monitor (Imparsial) chief Poengky Indarti has condemned the latest shooting in Papua, which has claimed one life on May 1. The victim was identified as student Terjoli Weya, who was shot in the stomach while demonstrating at Taman Imbi in Jayapura. “These shootings are a very real concern for Papuans. After shootings in Mulia district and Freeport, security forces need to claim some responsibility on negligence of upholding security, and display some professionalism in finding out who is responsible for these shootings,” Poengky said. ****
