PLTM Lokomboro Saves Rp19.5 Billion
TEMPO Interactive, Kupang:Micro-hydro Power Plant (PLTM) Lokomboro in Southwest Sumba Regency (SBD), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), has been able to save Rp19.5 billion each year. Paul Bola, East Nusa Tenggara state electricity company PLN spokesman, said the cost saving was calculated from the amount of diesel fuel saved, which was three million liters or Rp19.5 billion. The calculation was made based on assumptions that diesel fuel costs Rp6,500 per liter. Paul told reporters the cost saving the PLTM Lokomboro in Southwest Sumba was able to achieve. The power plant’s utilization was inaugurated last week. The power plant, which utilizes Lokomboro water power, has the capacity to generate 2.2 megawatts (mW).
