KPK Conducts Hambalang Case Exposure for the Third Time
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has, for the third time, conducted case exposure with regard to the investigation of Hambalang Stadium and Sports Complex in Sentul, Bogor, in West Java. After the third exposure was held on Thursday, the KPK still has not scheduled the summoning of Democrat Party Chairman Anas Unrbaningrum. “We’ll schedule him. Were on the case,” said KPK Deputy-Chief Zulkarnain, met at the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) on Monday.
The former AGO expert staff also said the KPK will not summon Anas this week. “We can’t do that. It’s not as easy as turning your hand over,” said Zulkarnain. Currently, according to Zulkarnain, the KPK is still trying to further study the case and legal construction of the graft allegation. Such measures are taken to fulfill the legal mechanism.
Muhammad Nazaruddin, former treasurer of the ruling Democrat Party, has incriminated Anas by claiming that the chairman is involved in the Rp1.2-trillion worth of Hambalang project. Nazaruddin revealed to KPK investigators about Anas’ involvement in the construction of the sports center—the case occurred in 2010.
