Ridwan’s Verdict, KPK’s Investigation Material
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will use Ridwan Sanjaya’s verdict as material to develop the investigation on the graft scandal involving Solar Home System project. The KPK will first study the six-year sentence given to the Energy and Mineral Resources Directorate General staffer.
“The verdict can be used as material for further investigation,” said KPK spokesman Johan Budi S.P. at his office on Tuesday. Johan believes that the considerations made by the panel of judges in the case will be studied in order to determine whether the verdict was substantial enough to be used as material for investigating the Rp526-billion worth of scandal.
The Jakarta Anti-Graft Court (Tipikor) on Tuesday sentenced Ridwan to six years in prison. Presiding judge Gusrizal said that Ridwan was found guilty of committing graft in the Solar Home System project handled by the Energy Ministry. “We found the defendant guilty of committing graft collectively,” said Gusrizal when reading the verdict at the court on Tuesday.
