Singaporean Car Body Shop Builds Plant in Banyuwangi
TEMPO Interactive, BANYUWANGI:Recent flooding in Thailand has brought investment to Indonesia. A Singaporean car body shop company, PT Surya Celsiunator, which operates in Thailand, plans to expand to Banyuwangi, East Java. The company will invest US$ 950,000 in its new plant. The Banyuwangi Permit Service Agency head, Abdul Kadir, said the plan was conveyed by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in December 2011. Banyuwangi Investment Division head Yoppie Bayu, said that Surya previously had a factory in Thailand. However, because of the flooding, the company is relocating. Banyuwangi was chosen as it has the Tanjungwangi Port to deliver products overseas. “The products will be exported,” he said. The Banyuwangi government will direct the company to build the plant in Wongsorejo. IKA NINGTYAS
