TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The antigraft commission has declared former Indonesia’s central bank deputy governor Miranda Swaray Goeltom a suspect, in connection with a bribery scandal linked to her being named deputy governor in 2004. Short of identifying her directly, the commission’s chief, Abraham Samad, said on Thursday that a person he named only as M.S.G. had been declared a suspect in a bribery scandal that has implicated at least 28 former and sitting lawmakers. The scandal revolves around Rp 24 billion which were paid in travellers checks – each worth Rp 50 million – to the lawmakers for her nomination, allegedly by Nunun Nurbaetie, wife of sitting lawmaker and former National Police deputy chief Adang Daradjatun.
