KPU Team Guarantees Transparency
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Home Affairs Minister and chief of the General Elections Commission (KPU) and Election Oversight Agency’s (Bawaslu) selection team, Gamawan Fauzi, has guaranteed a transparent selection process. Gamawan was responding to concerns about the team’s independence during the selection process. “We will give the House of Representatives (DPR) the opportunity to see the selection process,” said Gamawan yesterday.
He said that during the process the team would cooperate with psychologists and the Indonesian Doctor’s Association. “We’ll build objectivity to get the best candidate,” he said.
The selection team will also announce the names of candidates who passed the administration test. The team will also call on the public to give recommendations about the candidates’ background and will complete the selection process by February 24. IRA GUSLINA
