Wa Ode Cancels Visit to LPSK Office
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Wa Ode Nurhayati, a suspect in a bribery case concerning a provincial infrastructure development acceleration project, canceled her visit to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) office yesterday. “We will have a meeting again on Tuesday (today) and will submit the date concerning the Budget Board’s involvement to the LPSK as soon as possible,” said Muhamad Iskandar, Wa Ode Nurhayati’s lawyer. Iskandar would not explain the data that will be revealed by his client to the LPSK. Previously, the LPSK told Nurhayati to submit the data by Monday at the latest. However, Iskandar could not fulfill the request as his team was still on holiday. Iskandar urged the LPSK to guarantee legal protection for his client if she reveals the facts about the Budget Board. “My client must be protected fully,” he said. LPSK chief Abdul Haris Semendawai said that it was difficult to provide legal protection for Nurhayati due to her status as a suspect. The legal protection from the LPSK must involve the KPK. “The case is at the KPK and they will assess it,” he said. ANDY PERDANA
