Regional Administrations Expected to Control Inflation
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Home Ministry will issue a regulation which requires regional administrations to control inflation in their respective regions. The ministry will also increase support for the regional inflation control team. “The regulation facilitates regional administrations to have a structured working frame in order to control inflation,” said Yuswandi Temanggu, the Regional Finance director-general, after a meeting at the House of Representatives (DPR) on Wednesday. Connections between regions are required in order to monitor regional inflation. The new regulation is expected to accelerate any effort to control prices, for instance, in times when goods and basic commodities are scarce. “The regional administration has the authority to manage its financing through the instrument of regional budget,” Yuswadi added.
