TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Smelly shoes may lead to embarrassment and inconvenient. Instead of washing the shoes, try one of these four tips to get rid of the unpleasant odor.

1. Baking soda

Baking soda has many benefits, and one of them is as a natural deodorizer as it absorbs moisture and smell. Sprinkle baking soda powder to your shoes and leave it overnight, then clean it up in the morning. 

2. Fresh orange or lemon peels

Fresh orange or lemon peels can be used as one of the home ingredients to help provide fresh smell for your footwear. Place skins of citrus fruits inside your shoes and remove them before using. 

3. Coffee powder

Put coffee powder into socks or coffee filter then wrap it. Place the package in each shoe and let it sit overnight. Strong scent of coffee can cut bad smell off.

4. Old newspaper

Another way to remove bad odor from shoes is by placing old newspaper inside smelly shoes and leave it for a night before you use it. The old sheet helps to absorb unpleasant smell in your shoes.
