TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution said he would reward companies supporting the sustainability of vocational education programs with tax incentives.
“The tax calculation is every Rp1,000 used for the vocational students, teachers, and instruments will be rewarded Rp2,000 by the government,” said Darmin at the ministry’s office on Friday, December 7.
The government is currently formulating a curriculum that will be adopted by vocational schools across Indonesia, which will see less normative theories and more technical and productive ones.

Darmin said he had discussed this with several regional heads to confirm their commitment to this program.
Other than curriculum, Darmin also canvassed issues regarding the budget for vocational schools, which will be included in the State Budget (APBN). Darmin stopped short of revealing the amount, saying it would be presented to President Jokowi first.
