Youths Urged to Take Advantage of Soaring Creative Economy GDP

    TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -  President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo urged the country’s youths to take advantage of the economic opportunities following the country's rising gross domestic product (GDP) in the creative economy sector. 

    Based on a release received today, the creative economy’s increasing year-on-year GDP is proof that this industry has significantly contributed to the national economy. The Creative Economy Agency record shows it rocketing from Rp784 trillion in 2014 to Rp1.105 trillion in 2018.

    During the Digital Startup Connect 2018 held at the Balai Kartini today, President Jokowi reminded young creative and innovative entrepreneurs or startups to take advantage of the changing global momentum and the ongoing industrial disruptions.

    “The world is facing disruptions and the fourth industrial revolution, which opens up the opportunity to make significant changes that are sudden and surprising,” said President Jokowi.
