Tourism Ministry Promotes 10 New Bali to Korea, China, Japan

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism Ministry along with the 10 New Bali Acceleration Development team held a series of tourism promotion event to three Asian countries namely Korea, China, and Japan.

Based on a press release issued by the ministry in Jakarta, December 4, a promotion event in Korea was synergized in the 2018 Economic Forum initiated by the Indonesian Embassy, while in China it took place during China International Travel Mart in Shanghai on November 16-18.

Head of 10 New Bali Acceleration Development team, Hiramsyah S Thaib, said the team would jack up collaborations with many institutions to promote Indonesian tourism around the globe.

One of the tourist destinations that would be promoted was Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK). “I believe that through this event, tourist arrivals from Korea, China, and Japan to Indonesia will continue to increase,” said Hiramsyah, adding that the three countries had high tourism potential. Thus, it would be a golden opportunity for the Indonesian tourism sector.

Hiramsyah further said that tax holiday policy issued by the government would accelerate the development of 10 New Bali as the special economic zone.

Currently, there are four out of ten new Bali destinations that become special economic zone, namely Tanjung Lesung, Banten; Morotai, North Maluku; Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara; and Tanjung Kelayang, Bangka Belitung.
