Dozens of Indonesian Kings to Attend Indonesian Palace Festival

TEMPO.CO, Batusangkar - The XII Indonesian Palace Festival 2018 will be held in Tanah Datar regency, West Sumatra, along with the Minangkabau Culture Enchantment Festival organized by the local administration.
The annual Minangkabau Culture Enchantment Festival is scheduled to take place from November 28 to December 2.
The head of Tanah Datar Tourism and Sports Agency (Disparpora), Abdul Hakim, said the Indonesian Palace Festival is part of the Minangkabau Culture Enchantment Festival.

“The kings of Indonesia will later hold a carnival, which is planned to take place in the Batusangkar Market area on November 29,” he said in Batusangkar on Friday, November 9. According to Abdul Hakim, around 47 kings are expected to attend the event.
Until now, about half of the kings have confirmed their attendance. Together with their entourages, it is predicted that there will be more than 1,000 people present at the event, as one entourage comprises 30 to 40 escorts. “We are ready to make this festival a success,” Abdul Hakim said.
The assistant to Economics and Development of Tanah Datar regency, Edi Susanto, said besides attending events in the festival, the kings and their entourages would also take part in the carnival.
