TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police arrested 18 suspected dealers of liquid for smoking vape or e-cigarette containing methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) or ecstasy.

“Some suspects are still on the wanted list (DPO),” said Head of Sub Directorate of the Jakarta Police's Drugs Investigation Calvijn Simanjuntak in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Thursday, November 8.

Calvijn said the 18 suspects were arrested at 12 different locations and different times. The police set three main places where the suspects produced the e-liquid, namely at a house in Kelapa Gading, at an apartment in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, and at Bassura City apartment in Jatinegara, Central Jakarta.

The suspect prep and mix the liquid containing drugs in the first location; then they put the e-liquid into bottles of different sizes at the second location; and finally, package them in packaging boxes for buyers at the third place in Jatinegara.

The police had been conducting the operation at the three crime scenes for several months, Calvijn said.

The 18 suspects are ER, DIL, AG, AR, KIM, TY, TM, SEP, VIN, BUS, AND, HAM, BR, VIK, DW, DIK, and COK. Calvijn said that TY, VIN, HAM, COK were inmates at Cipinang Detention Center, East Jakarta.

The finding of this case is a follow up of the arrest of three e-liquid dealers; TM, AT, and ER by the Jakarta Police several weeks ago. The police will charge all suspects with Article 114 (2) in conjunction with Article 132 (1) of Law No. 35/2009 on Narcotics.
