Basarnas Extends Lion Air JT 610 Evacuation Period for 3 Days

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Marshal Muhammad Syaugi extended the evacuation period of Lion Air JT 610 aircraft for three days, specifically for Basarnas task force.
“Besides the Basarnas team, we express our gratitude, tribute, and appreciation to other SAR teams such as TNI-Polri (National Army-National Police), Pertamina, Bakamla (Maritime Security Agency), Customs, KPLP (Sea and Coast Guard), Polair, and volunteers, ,” said Syaugi at JICT II post, Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, Wednesday 7 November.

Syaugi said the extension of the evacuation period was based on the evaluation meeting held by the joint SAR team on the 10th day of the search due to the trend of the finding is decreasing.
“I remind you again, this extension period is specifically for Basarnas. We still open the posts here,” he added.
Next week, Basarnas will evaluate the joint SAR team who has worked together to see the shortcomings while conducting the evacuation process of the Lion Air JT 610 victims.
The evaluation needs to be done to see what needs to be improved for the cooperation in the future.
