    TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A person`s occupation as a gamer can no longer be seen lightly after several online games were officially categorized as eSport athletes. Players often compete in national and international-level competitions with fantastic prizes.

    Tempo summarized five highest-grossing Indonesian eSport athletes according to the data provided by esportearnings.com.

    1. Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand (CS:GO Player)

    Hansel Ferdinand is Indonesia’s highest-earning eSport player with a total earning of US$93,906 (Rp1.41 billion) from 34 national and international-level tournaments he took part in. 

    Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (abbreviated as CS: GO) is a tactical first-person shooter and the fourth game in the world-renowned Counter-Strike franchise.

    The highest pay Ferdinand won was US$15,000 by ranking first at the StarLadder & ImbaTV Invitational Chongqing 2018 held on March 24, 2018. 

    2. Kevin "xccurate" Susanto (CS: GO Player)

    Kevin Susanto is an eSport player in the same game that Hansel competes in and ranks second highest grossing player by earning a total of US$58,727 (Rp880.9 million) which he collected from participating in 29 tournaments since 2017.

    The largest prize Kevin received is from the StarLadder & ImbaTV Invitational Chongqing 2018 on March 25, 2018. 

    3. Muhammad Rizky "Iyourdream" Anugrah (Dota 2 Player)

    Third highest grossing Indonesian eSport athlete Muhammad Rizky Anugrah started his career as an eSport athlete in 2017 where he earned US$35,253 (Rp528.8 million). He collected US$38,153 in total from 11 tournaments.

    According to esportearnings.com, Dota 2 is an action real-time strategy game developed and published by Valve Corporation which is a stand-alone sequel to the Warcraft III custom map Defense of the Ancients: All-Stars (DotA: All-stars for short, or simply DotA).

    4. Kenny "Xepher" Deo (Dota 2 Player)

    Kenny Deo ranks the fourth highest grossing Indonesian eSport athlete with a total of US$35,817 from 14 tournaments he participated in. He debuted in 2016 and received his highest pay on November 4, 2018, at the DreamLeague Season 10 tournament. 

    5. Annialis (Fortnite Player)

    The player’s original identity was not mentioned in esportsearnings.com, however, the Fortnite player is listed as the fifth highest grossing Indonesian eSport athlete by collecting a total of US$23,950 (Rp359.2 million) from six tournaments. 

    Fortnite is a third-person online action game launched as an early access title, developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on July 25, 2017.

    2018 marks Annialis’ inaugural year as an eSport athlete and succeeded to collect a prize of US$12,500 during the Fortnite Summer Skirmish Series on August 10, 2018.
