TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta administration will begin revitalizing the three pedestrian bridges (JPO) on Jalan Sudirman, Friday 2 November. As a result, the two Transjakarta bus stops have to be temporarily closed.
The three JPOs are the Senayan Roundabout, the Jakarta Police (Polda) and the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK). The Transjakarta bus stop at the Polda and the Senayan Roundabout will be closed.
“Only two will be closed temporarily,” said Acting Head of Jakarta Bina Marga Road Agency, Heru Suwondo, when contacted on Thursday 1 November.
The Transjakarta bus users will be transferred to the Gelora Bung Karno bus stop. As for the crossing access, Bina Marga will provide pelican crossing at GBK and zebra crossing at the Senayan Roundabout.
“Regarding the closing of these bus stops, we are still waiting for confirmation from Transjakarta and the Transportation Agency,” Heru said.
Heru explained that the revitalization of the three JPOs would take around 1-2 months. He calculated that the construction would be completed by the end of December 2018.
