Athletes from 22 Countries Participate at TNI Marathon in Lombok

TEMPO.CO, Mataram - Runners from 22 countries will take part in the 2018 TNI (National Army) Marathon Running Competition in Kuta, Lombok, Sunday, November 4.
There are 238 foreign runners and 149 of them are from Kenya. There are also 4,300 people from outside West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Among them are 1,800 TNI soldiers from all Military Regional Commands (Kodam) in Indonesia.
“This is the biggest marathon in Indonesia which is participated by foreign runners,” said TNI Chief of Physical Service, Brig. Gen. Moch Hasan, coordinator of the TNI Marathon.
According to Hasan, the 42K (kilometer) full marathon international championship and half marathon 21K have received license by the International Athletics Federation Association (IAAF).
The amount of prizes provided by the committee is Rp10 billion and is divided into four categories.
The 5K running competition is participated by 2,543 national students. The 10K running competition is participated by 1,967 people consisting of general public, masters, and TNI/Police members. The 21K category is participated by 638 people of national and international citizens, master, and TNI/Police members. The 42K full marathon competition will be participated by 282 national and international citizens.
The participants of TNI Marathon in Lombok are scheduled to arrive since Thursday, November 1.
