TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Anti-narcotics Agency (BNN) launched Friday an operation at Jatinegara Kaum low-cost apartment complex on Jl. Raya Bekasi Timur, Klender sub-district, Pulogadung district, East Jakarta. Of the total 171 residents undergoing urine tests, six tested postive on narcotics.
“Yes, six of them [tested positive on illegal drugs], all of them are males,” said Jakarta BNN head Brig. Gen. Johny Latupeirissa.
He explained the operation also involved personnel from the Jakarta Police's Mobile Brigade unit and the Pulogadung District Police. "We also brought BNN K-9 dogs.”
According to Johny, 88 of the 171 people were the apartment complex's operators, while the others were residents.
“During this joint work, no evidence is found,” he said, adding that the six residents were taken to the Jakarta BNN office for further investigation.
