TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A parliament member Aziz Syamsuddin hoped that the issue of evidence tampering at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted by the two former KPK investigators from the police institution, Rolan and Harun, would not damage the synergy between the two law enforcement institutions.
“Do not let the good relationship between the Police and the KPK be ruined due to this issue,” said the member of the Regional Representative Council`s (DPD) Legal Commission in a written statement received by Tempo, Thursday night, October 11.

The investigation conducted by IndonesiaLeaks, a platform for the public to report scandals of public officials or private sectors in Indonesia, revealed the indication of the destruction of evidence at the KPK.
Roland and Harun, were said to be responsible for the destruction of the red-colored bankbook, a record of financial transactions belonging to the owner of Sumber Laut Perkasa company Basuki Hariman, a KPK suspect in a bribery case entnangling the former Chairman of the Constitutional Court, Patrialis Akbar. The red book contained the name of the National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian. Related to that, Aziz asked Tito to remain focused on his duties.

“Currently, the National Police Chief is carrying out a heavy task related to state security. After safeguarding the Asian Games, Asian Para Games and IMF Meeting in Bali, the National Police has an important task in securing the 2019 Election and the upcoming Christmas and New Year Celebration,” Aziz said.
