TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi admitted that he learned about e-sport through Mobile Legends game from his son, Kaesang Pangarep, in order to keep updated.
“At first I did not understand about e-sport, about Mobile Legends. Now I knew. I asked Kaesang to teach me,” Kaesang's father said at Grand Mulya Resort, Bogor, Wednesday, October 10.
Jokowi said the development of technology is moving so fast that people must continue to learn. He stated that Mobile Legends could be a lucrative source of income for those who work on it. One of the young people who took advantage of the opportunity was the e-Sport player and a Mobile Legend gamer, Jess No Limit.
The president had met Jess and asked about the income he earned from Mobile Legends. Although he did not know the details, Jokowi ensured Jess’s income could reach hundreds of millions.
Jokowi hoped the youth can take advantage of opportunities from technological developments like Jess did. The president called on the youths to prepare themselves because the challenge will not be easy.
“There is a great opportunity there,” Jokowi said, adding that he believed in Indonesia’s youth potential.
