TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi admitted the efforts of regional government in handling the effects of natural disasters in Palu and Donggala, Central Sulawesi, were not yet maximum due to the harsh condition on the locations.
"I agree that the service done by the local government is not yet total since their families are also the victims," the president said in Jakarta, Wednesday, Oct. 10.
Jokowi said the real situation there was very different from what was shown on television. He hoped the people who knew the real condition would not complain about it.
"They are not in the ideal situation to solve those matters," he said, adding that it took time to return the situation back to normal.
However, the president reassured that the mitigation effort was keep on running, such as the fulfillment of fuel and electricity needs.
President Jokowi hoped the people would appreciate the efforts and works done by the officers on field.
