According to Sudirman, the credibility of the KPK as a law enforcement agency was at stake in the case. He argued that from the results of the Indonesialeaks investigation, his belief in the independence and professionalism of the KPK was faded.
“I started to worry, maybe the story about the current situation of KPK is true,” he said.
Sudirman claimed to only hear stories about the KPK that could be suppressed by the rulers. “What I believe is that the KPK continues to work professionally and is free from the influence of anyone’s interests," he said.
Former KPK leader Bambang Widjoyanto also commented on the results of the Indonesialeaks' investigation. He questioned the courage of the current KPK Chairman Agus Rahardjo to summon the Indonesian National Police Chief, General Tito Karnavian, whose names were in the evidence document.
