TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta’s Gerindra Party managements filed a police report against Ratna Sarumpaet after the activist caused a public uproar for claiming to be a victim of a fictitious assault scenario.
Gerindra deemed it is important to prove that Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno were not involved in Ratna Sarumpaet’s public deceit.
“We feel offended that the party chairman (Prabowo) and Sandiaga Uno were accused of being involved in a conspiracy,” said Jakarta Gerindra’s legal advocacy secretary Mohamad Taufiqurrahman on Tuesday, October 9.

Mohamad Taufiqurrahman said that the party’s team of advocates has coordinated with the Jakarta Gerindra Chairman M. Taufik, which the police report was filed under Taufik’s instructions.
The report was filed on October 6, 2018, despite the fact that police have named Ratna Sarumpaet as a suspect. Taufiqurrahman said he isn’t worried that his action goes against Sandiaga Uno’s initial statement where he said he will not file a police report against Ratna.
