AP II Relocates Soekarno-Hatta Airport`s North Perimeter Road

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State airport operator Angkasa Pura II (AP II) relocated Soekarno-Hatta Airport`s North Perimeter Road as it was affected by the airport`s third runway construction project. A new road axis for the replacement has been prepared.

“The road axis and the contractor are already set,” said Senior Manager of Branch Communication and Legal of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Febri Toga Simatupang, Friday, September 14.

Deputy Executive General Manager of Airport Construction Division Project Area I, Doddy Dewayanto, explained that the North Perimeter Road is moved about 500 meters from the current position. “The length is same, about 6,5 kilometers,” he said.

According to Doddy, the road route still connecting Dadap and P2 Road, which is connected to the airport toll road.

The 7-kilometer North Perimeter Road is one of the accesses to and from Soekarno-Hatta Airport towards Tangerang direction. This road began operating about four years ago.

Angkasa Pura II Vice President of Corporate Communication Yado Yarismano said that the construction of the third runway at Soekarno-Hatta Airport was estimated to reach Rp2.6 trillion. Currently, the project is still in the pre-construction stage, namely, leveling the land on the north side of the runway.
